The 3D model I made from drawings of a real 'smoking lamp' I did at the Navy Museum in Washington, D.C. I always wondered what one of these looked like
"Copper smoking lamb used onboard the USS Constellation in the 19th Century. Because of the hazard of fire on wooden ships, no open flames were allowed. When smoking was permitted, coals from the galley stove were placed inside the lamp and wodden slivers were inserted into the tubular snuffers on the sides of the lamp."
